Microneedling

Microneedling usually involves minimal downtime. Your skin may appear red, feel warm or tight, and be slightly sensitive for 24–48 hours, similar to mild sunburn. Some clients may experience dryness, mild swelling or light flaking for several days. Avoid makeup, strenuous exercise, excessive sweating, swimming, saunas, steam rooms and active skincare products for the recommended period following treatment. Full aftercare advice will be provided. 

 Microneedling can feel slightly uncomfortable, but most clients tolerate it well. A numbing cream is applied before treatment to minimise discomfort. You may feel light scratching, pressure or a prickling sensation, particularly over bony areas such as the forehead. The treatment intensity is adjusted to your skin and comfort level.

Yes, some redness is expected, and slight pinpoint bleeding may occur. Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the skin’s natural healing response and encourage collagen and elastin production.

However, a heavily bleeding face is not a sign of a better or more effective treatment. Redness can be mild or more noticeable depending on your skin tone, skin texture, collagen levels and the treatment depth used. The treatment will always be tailored to your skin and individual concerns.

Yes, you can have a single microneedling session, which may leave your skin looking refreshed and revitalised. However, results build gradually as new collagen develops. For more noticeable or longer-term improvement, particularly for acne scarring, pigmentation or skin texture, we usually recommend a course of three treatments.
