At Lumera Skin & Laser Clinic, Rowlands Castle, we offer professional laser hair removal using advanced Diode laser technology to target unwanted hair at the follicle, helping to achieve smoother, longer-lasting results. Suitable for a range of areas and skin types, the treatment works by delivering controlled laser energy to the hair follicle, reducing hair growth over a course of treatments. It can be used on areas including the face, underarms, bikini, legs, arms and back. A personalised consultation allows us to assess your skin and hair type and recommend the most suitable treatment plan for you.

Please email us at info@lumeraskin.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
The number of treatments needed will depend on your skin concerns, skin condition and desired results. Some clients notice an improvement after just one treatment, while a course of 3–6 treatments may be recommended for concerns such as pigmentation, acne, uneven skin tone or texture. We’ll assess your skin and recommend a personalised treatment plan during your consultation.
No. Chemical peels are not suitable for everyone, which is why a skin assessment and consultation must be carried out before treatment. We will assess your skin condition, concerns and overall skin barrier health to make sure a peel is appropriate and safe for you.
Treatment may need to be postponed or may not be suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are currently unwell, have an active skin infection or irritation, have a compromised skin barrier, are immunocompromised, or are taking certain medications. Other medical conditions, recent treatments and skincare products may also affect suitability.
Your practitioner will discuss your medical history and current skincare during your consultation and will only recommend treatment if it is considered appropriate for your skin.
Downtime varies depending on the type and strength of peel used and how your individual skin responds. Some peels have very little downtime, while others may cause redness, dryness, tightness or visible peeling for several days.
Your practitioner will explain what to expect from your chosen peel and provide you with aftercare advice to help protect your skin while it recovers.
Chemical peels are generally well tolerated, although you may experience some tingling, warmth or a mild stinging sensation during treatment. The level of sensation will depend on the type of peel being used and your individual skin.
Your practitioner will monitor your skin throughout the treatment and make sure you are comfortable. Any sensations are usually temporary and settle quickly after the peel.
In some cases, yes, but this will depend on your skin assessment. Your practitioner will first assess your skin, skin barrier, medical history and current skincare to make sure a chemical peel is suitable for you.
If your skin is healthy and no contraindications are identified, it may be possible to proceed with treatment on the same day. However, if your skin needs preparation first, or if a patch test is required for your chosen peel, your treatment will be booked for a later date.
Not necessarily. Some chemical peels can cause visible flaking or peeling in the days following treatment, while others may cause very little or no visible peeling at all. This will depend on the type and strength of peel used and how your individual skin responds.
Visible peeling is not an indication of how effective your treatment has been, so your skin does not need to physically peel to achieve results.
